Obituary

EVELYN LOUISE TAWES, 70, of Crisfield, died Thursday, May 31, 2007 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury.

Born in Westover on October 17, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Mae Cowger Dorsey. Her husband, John Elwood "Feet" Tawes, Jr., died April 14, 2003.

She was a homemaker and was a clerk at the former Carvel Hall Cutlery in Crisfield for 15 years.

She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Crisfield where she worked the Soup Kitchen and cooked and delivered Thanksgiving dinners. She was a devoted wife and mother and she loved taking care of her grandchildren. She was a very giving person.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda Tawes Wilson and her husband Gary of Crisfield; two sons, David Lee Tawes and his wife Linda and Tony Darrell Tawes and his wife Mary, all of Crisfield; eight grandchildren, David Lee Tawes, Jr., Jason Tawes, Kevin Wilson and his wife Nicki, Tony "T.J." Tawes, Jr., Jacob Tawes, Jackie Tawes, Dylan Tawes, and Jason Meadows; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley Tawes and Brandon Tawes. A brother, Lloyd Dorsey is deceased.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 3, 2007 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call Saturday evening from 7-9. The Rev. Jack "Tad" Maroon will officiate. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield.
