On May 31, 2013, Linwood Benson Sterling, Jr (Lenny) passed away at PRMC surrounded by his family. Born December 31, 1948 in Crisfield, MD he was the son of the late Linwood "Possum" Sterling, Sr. and Frances Davis Sterling.
Linwood was an avid waterman with a love of fishing and crabbing. A big-hearted man, who loved driving the seafood trucks, he was well-known for his pranks and practical jokes.
A man full of pride and love for his family leaves behind his best friend of 40 years and wife of 38 years, Linda Sue Sterling of Crisfield, three daughters; Amy Michelle Sterling Townsend of Seaford and her husband and her 6 children, Jennifer Sterling Ervin of Chestertown and her husband and her 3 children, Candice Simmons Smith of Mexico, Missouri and her husband and her 3 children, a granddaughter more like his own daughter, Amy Elizabeth Reames; two great-grandchildren whom he was raising as his own Wyatt and Sarah Reames; a step-daughter Debra Ward Sisson and her 4 children; a special son Ronnie Townsend, a total of 16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his sister Laura and his brothers Gregory, Jerry, Ronnie and David Sterling.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, June 6th 2013 at 5:00pm at Liberty Rock Church with Pastor Nolan Ford officiating followed by a gathering at Marion Volunteer Fire Department. In lieu of flowers, the family requests all donations be made to Liberty Rock Church to support the church he loved.
