Linda Somers Abbott, 79, of Crisfield, died Thursday, June 9, 2022 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional.

Born July 5, 1942 in Baltimore to Melvin and Mary Dize Somers, she was raised in Crisfield and graduated from Crisfield High School.  She was a homemaker and in her younger years worked in the local sewing factories.  Her husband, James L. "Bones" Abbott, died January 2, 2008.

She loved going with her daughter for daily rides around town and shopping.  She especially enjoyed watching the island boats dock in the morning at the depot.  She also loved listening to the Gaithers, watching the news on TV and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Rita L. Parkinson (J.P.); her sister, Mary "Mitzi" Wheatley; grandchildren, Darin Parkinson (Jessica), Daniel Parkinson, Joshua Parkinson, Jordan "Bubba" Parkinson, Ashley Abbott, Vicki Abbott, James Abbott, Shannon Abbott, and Allison Abbott; a special great-granddaughter, Sophia; and several other great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, James M. Abbott; and her brother, William "Billy" Somers.

Funeral services will be Sunday, June 12, 2022 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be one hour prior.  Rev. LeBron Palmer will officiate.  Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
