Obituary

LILLIAN MARSHALL HOLLAND, 90, of Crisfield, died Thursday, December 9, 2010 at Manokin Manor Nursing Home in Princess Anne.

Born in Crisfield, she was a daughter of the late Wells W. and Birdie Middleton Marshall. Her husband, John S. Holland, preceded her in death in 1978.

Mrs. Holland proudly served in the US Marine Corps during World War II. She was a member of the Stanley Cochrane Post #16 American Legion in Crisfield for more than 60 years, where she had served as Commander and Adjutant. She was also a member of the Delmarva Detachment Marine Corps League.

She was secretary for Maryland Veteran's Commission, Selective Service System, and had worked at the Housing Authority of Crisfield for 14 years and was a certified Public Housing Manager under H.U.D.

She is survived by her sister, Betty M. Nelson; a brother, Bobby L. Marshall and wife Jean; five nephews, Kenneth Marshall, Jr. and wife Iva, Steven Marshall and wife Sherree, David Marshall and wife Christine, Richard Marshall and wife Donna, and Dale Marshall; and several great nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Marshall, Sr.

Funeral services will be Monday, December 13, 2010 at 1 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. Pastor Tad Maroon will officiate. Interment with military honors will be in Crisfield Cemetery.
