Libby Rose Evans, 44, of Hollywood, MD and formerly of Beltsville and Ewell, Smith Island, died Monday, September 23, 2013 at MedStar St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown.
Born in Crisfield, she was the daughter of Deloris June Evans of Hollywood and the late William Frederick Evans.
A 1986 graduate of High Point High School in Beltsville, she was a retired medical secretary.
She was a member of Ewell United Methodist Church on Smith Island. She had a great love for the island and always considered it her home. She also had a great love for cats. She loved spending time with her family.
Along with her mother, Deloris June Evans, she is survived by her siblings, Robert L. Tyler, Jr. and wife Barbara W. of Lutherville, Rebecca Rippons of Mans Harbor, NC, and John S. Evans, Sr. of Mechanicsville, MD; nieces and nephews, Stephanie Aaron, Tony Rippons, Joe Rippons, Toby Tyler, Josh Tyler, Chelsea Pease, John Evans, Jr., Stephanie Mason, Brittany Evans and Mason Evans; her special "aunt" and "uncle", Bev and Chris Spurry of St. Michaels; her uncle, Elwood Evans of Delmar; her special best friend, Monica Stevens; and many cousins.
Along with her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Maude, Struven, Randolph, Winnie, and Bill Wallace Evans.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 2 PM at Ewell U. M. Church on Smith Island where a viewing will be one hour prior. Pastors Jim Evans and Rick Edmund will officiate. Interment will follow in the Ewell Church Cemetery.
