Obituary

Lewis M. "Louie" Culbertson, 86, of Crisfield, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family.

Born in Crisfield on June 21, 1925, he was a son of the late Albert and Ruby Collins Culbertson.

Louie was a fixture at H. Glenwood Evans and Son Seafood in Crisfield. He started working at the business at the age of 7, working his way up to plant manager, and had worked side by side with every Evans generation. He was a hard worker and he loved every minute of it. He enjoyed talking, preaching the word of the Lord, and singing to everyone on the docks be it a stranger or friend. He always wanted people to do good and there was not a life that he didn't impact in a positive way. The dock at H. Glenwood Evans and Son will never be the same without Louie sitting there in his easy chair.

Louie loved the Lord, his work, his cologne, feeding and watching wildlife, and he loved his children and grandchildren with all his heart and soul. He would always end his conversations with "Pop loves you honey!"

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia Crockett Culbertson of Crisfield; children, Elsie and Johnnie Cooper of Crisfield, Lewis, Jr. and Pat Culbertson of Crisfield, Sharon and Jimmy Campbell of Pittsburgh, PA, Wayne and Janet Culbertson of Princess Anne, Patti and Larry Laird of Crisfield, Nicci and Greg Evans of Crisfield, and Debbie Tyler of Crisfield; a special son, Bob Evans and his wife Keisha and family of Crisfield; a sister, Peggy Culbertson of Crisfield; a brother, Albert Culbertson, Jr. and his wife Diane of Crisfield; a step-brother, Jerry Culbertson of Crisfield; 28 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Ann Culbertson who died in infancy; and his sister, Myrtle Harris.

Funeral services officiated by the Rev. Bob Daniels will be held Friday, February 24, 2012 at 2 PM at the Crisfield Church of God. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Mariners Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802-1733.
