Lewis James Daugherty, 37, of Crisfield, went home to be with the Lord with his family by his side, on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center, after complications sustained from a massive stroke.

Born in Cambridge, MD on July 11, 1976, Lewis was the loving son of Lewis M. "Bub" Daugherty of Crisfield and Sherry L. Eberhart Wheatley of Gloucester, VA.

A 1995 graduate of Crisfield High School, Lewis was an electrician who worked extremely hard for his family. When not working Lewis loved to go hunting, ride 4 wheelers, hang out with his friends, listen to country music, but most importantly spend time with his family.

A loving father, son, step-son, brother, grandson, uncle, and cousin, Lewis leaves behind his father, Lewis "Bub" Daugherty & wife Toni of Crisfield; his mother, Sherry Lynn Wheatley & husband Lee of Gloucester, VA; his sons, Lewis "Joshua", & Hunter James; his sister, Randi Lynn Riggs & husband Michael of Gloucester, VA; his step-brother and step-sister, Moosie Labo of Marion and Tiffany Labo of Shelltown; his paternal grandmother, Mae Daugherty and maternal grandparents Jim & Eleanor Eberhart, all of Crisfield; one niece, Kaitlynn Riggs of Gloucester; his aunts and uncles, Jeanne & Bob Schieferstein of Martinsburg, WV, Patti "Sugar" Hoback, Becky & David Corbin, and Lou & Billy Drewer, all of Crisfield, Terry & Liz Eberhart of Westover; 11cousins; his girlfriend, Jaclyn Merson & her children Gabe & Jadyn; two very special friends, Gussie & Tracy Ward; and a host of many other numerous relatives and friends.

Lewis was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lewis E. Daugherty.

The family would like everyone to know that they carried out Lewis' last wishes by donating his organs to save other lives. They would also like to send out a special thanks to Jennifer & Ryan DeVage, and Jill Taylor for all of their love and support during this difficult time.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at 2 PM at Somerset Free Methodist Church in Crisfield where a viewing will be from Noon until service time. Pastor Jim Evans will officiate and interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
