LEVIN HOOVER, 89, of the Hearts Ease area of Crisfield, and formerly of Bayside Beach, died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield.
Born in Baltimore on August 9, 1921, he was the son of the late John Peter and Sally Lewis Hoover. His wife of 66 years, Mary C. Hoover, died January 22, 2010. Mr. & Mrs. Hoover had been making their home in Crisfield for the past 11 years.
A US Coast Guard veteran of World War II, he was a retired machinist from Copper Company in Baltimore.
He was an avid fisherman and loved to work with duct tape. He also enjoyed spending the winter months with his wife in Marathon, Florida.
He is survived by his cousins, Gail Clark of Marion Station and Mary Jane Judd of Crisfield; and several other cousins, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate the lives of Levin and Mary Hoover will be held Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 2 PM at St. Peter's United Methodist Church in Crisfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be sent to St. Peter's U. M. Church, c/o Charlotte Daugherty, 5412 Frances Road, Crisfield, MD 21817.
