LETTIE PEARL JOHNSON, 85, of Crisfield, died Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at Manokin Manor Nursing Home in Princess Anne where she had been a resident for almost three years.
Born in Marion Station, Maryland on December 10, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin Freely and Florence Mae Green Nelson. Her husband, Lorie T. Johnson, died April 12, 2003.
A retired inspector for Rubberset Corp. in Crisfield, she was a member of Mariners United Methodist Church and the former Order of Eastern Star Chesapeake Chapter #28, both Crisfield. She enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by a son, Lorie Thomas Johnson, III (Shirley) of Ocean Pines; a daughter, Yvonne Lawson (Grant "Hon") of Crisfield; a sister, Florence Mae Horsey of Marion Station; two brothers, Benjamin W. Nelson of Snow Hill and Alonza Nelson of Baltimore; four grandchildren, Leslie Wilson (Lee) of Marion Station, Michael Lawson (Lisa) of Crisfield, Chris Johnson (Melani) of Baltimore, and Craig Johnson (Juliet) of Ocean Pines; seven great-grandchildren, Olivia, Cole, and Sophia Johnson of Perry Hall, Ben and Ellie Johnson of Ocean Pines, and Charlotte and Elijah Lee "Trey" Wilson III of Marion Station; one great-great-granddaughter, Emma Wilson-Piskor; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Yvonne Marie Nelson, and a brother, Benjamin Freely Nelson, Jr.
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 14, 2009 at 2 PM at Mariners United Methodist Church in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. The Rev.'s Sally Russum, Tom Blakelock, and Philip Morris will officiate. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
