Laura Frances Sterling, 83, of Crisfield, died Monday, November 21, 2011 at McCready Memorial Hospital in Crisfield.

Born in Oyster, Virginia on July 3, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Jess Henry and Laura Elizabeth Parks Davis. Her husband of 61 years, Linwood B. "Possum" Sterling, Sr. died September 25, 2009.

A homemaker, she looked forward to Saturday's so she could go "yard-saling". She loved being with her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by six children, Linwood Benson Sterling, Jr. and his wife Linda, Jerry Rue Sterling, Laura Lynne Sterling, Ronnie Sterling, Gregory Davis Sterling, and David Bruce Sterling, all of Crisfield; one brother, Robert Lee Davis of Salisbury; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by four brothers, Art, Jess, James and Richard Davis; and three sisters, Idella Lane, Lucille Linton and Catherine Davis Wrape.

A memorial service and scattering ceremony will be held Monday, November 28, 2011 at 11 AM at the VFW Cemetery in Crisfield at the gravesite of her late husband, Linwood B. "Possum" Sterling, Sr. The Rev. Robert Daniels will officiate.
