Laura M. Hobaugh, 82, of Crisfield and formerly of New Jersey, died Friday, March 8, 2024 at her home.

Born in Patterson, NJ on August 27, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Julia Appio Wagniere.  She had been making her home in Crisfield since October 2012 and was officially welcomed to Maryland by Hurricane Sandy the next day.

She was a wonderful homemaker and also worked at GMAC Financial in New Jersey where she met her husband of over 50 years, Kirk Wesley Hobaugh.  Her and her husband also owned and operated a bar briefly in The New Jersey Pine Barrens.

Mrs. Hobaugh enjoyed traveling but most of all she loved her family.  She was a wonderful wife and mother and she adored her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Kirk, she is survived by four children, Betty Jean Dekeukelaere, Phillip Hobaugh, Stephen Hobaugh, and Gregory Hobaugh; 9 grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Jean Payne.

A memorial service and scattering ceremony will be held at a later date on the beach in New Jersey.
