L. BARRY "SNUFFY" WARD, 64, died Friday, February 22, 2008 at his home on Calvary Road in Crisfield.

Born in Crisfield on October 31, 1943, he was a son of the late Raymond K. and Mildred G. Lawson Ward.

A graduate of Crisfield High School's class of 1962, "Snuffy" was a carpenter and School Bus Contractor for 35+ years on Bus #5 with Somerset County Schools.

A US Army veteran, he was a member of the Stanley Cochrane Post #16 American Legion in Crisfield. He was affiliated with the Wesleyan Church in Crisfield and was an avid NASCAR fan.

"Snuffy" enjoyed driving his school bus; he loved all of his "kids" and they loved him.

He is survived by his brother, William Zack Ward of Crisfield; his uncle, Weldon H. Lawson of Crisfield; his nephews, Raymond K. "Koly" Ward, III and his wife, Jennifer, and their son, Raymond Kole Ward, IV, of Crisfield, Jason Sterling and his wife, Karen, of Crisfield and Tommy Wilson and family; his nieces, Jeanie R. Ward and children Brittany Bell and Jaycee Ward of Crisfield, Tammy Eure and family of Salisbury and Kimberly Ott and family of Salisbury; many cousins, relatives and a multitude of friends.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Gary L. Ward, Raymond K. "Ricky" Ward, Jr. and Ronnie J. Ward.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Bob Daniels will officiate. Interment will follow in Asbury Cemetery in Crisfield.
