Obituary

Kimberly Beth "Kim" Richards, 53, of Crisfield, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 4, 2021 from TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury.

Born in Crisfield on April 9, 1968, she was a daughter of the late Roger Ralph "Bubby" Riggin, Jr. and Ruby Mae Justice Riggin.

She was a graduate of Crisfield High School Class of 1986 and a member of Living Hope Ministries of the Eastern Shore in Marion. She was the owner along with her husband of the former Somers Cove Deli and Carryout and later worked at the former Puff's Place for 10 years before her retirement due to illness.

Kim loved her family and adored being an auntie. She was always there to lend a helping hand and even helped raise her nieces and nephews. She was also a caretaker for her mother-in-law, Gloria, until her death in 2008.  She loved to cook, bake, and in her younger years she enjoyed crafting. At one time she also worked in her mothers' store, R&R Crafts. She was always smiling and laughing, and was quite the "prankster". In addition she loved her dogs, "Cooper" and the late "Poochie".

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, David Russell Richards; daughter, Amanda Lynn Richards; siblings, Lynette Lau/Jeff, Terri Tawes/Craig, Jimmy Baker/Becky, and Roger "Buggy" Riggin, III; brothers and sisters-in-law, Martha Townsend/Robin, Ralph Richards/Sharon, Nancy Fitzgerald/Mike, Doris Howlett/Tim, Mary Nelson/Dan, Faith Daum/Rob, and Becky Whittington/King; special nephews, Nate Whittington and Ethan Richards; nieces and nephews, Paul Giordano/Katie, Megan Brimer/Casey, Beth Bromley/Jeff, Stephanie Richards, Roger Riggin IV, Brittany Mills/Bill, Zach Townsend, Kelsey Riggin, Timmy Howlett/Kasie, Ben Daum, Beka Daum, Evan Riggin, Spencer Cropper, Samantha Richards, Ralph Richards, III, Austin Baker, Alan Baker, and Gabriella Blades; special aunt, Mary Hall; special friend, Shirley Crockett; special friend and cousin, Jane McCready and her son, Mike; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a special grandmother, Sallie Mae Howard Outten; In-laws, Ralph and Gloria Richards; an uncle, Jimmie Hall; and a nephew, Brion Blades.
