Obituary

Kevin Watson Melson, Sr., 49, of Stockton, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury after fighting a long hard battle with cancer.

Born March 14, 1965 in Salisbury, he was the son of Nancy Watson Melson of Pocomoke City and the late Scott S. Melson.
Kevin was a locksmith at NASA, Wallops Island for the Navy. He was a mechanic and loved working with his hands. An avid surf fisherman, he loved the beach, riding his boogie board, and eating "Thrasher's French Fries" with his granddaughter. He also enjoyed being a photographer in his spare time.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Laurie Efaw Melson, a daughter, Stephanie Bright and her husband Patrick of Chincoteague, a son, Kevin Watson Melson, Jr. of Stockton, a granddaughter, Lorelai Christine Melson, a sister, Deb Hamilton and her partner Sherry of Lewes, DE, a brother, Kiplin S. Melson and his wife Dawn of Pocomoke City, a step-sister, Carol Melson Eason and her husband Jim of Gilmer, TX, an uncle, Richard Watson, Sr. and his wife Carol of Millsboro, and several nieces and nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the Glad Tidings Assembly of God Church in Pocomoke with Pastor Robert Blevins officiating. Interment will be in the First Baptist Cemetery in Pocomoke.

Friends may call Tuesday from 7-9 PM at the Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield, or at the church Wednesday from 1-2 PM.
