KATINA LEIGH MARSHALL, 36, of Crisfield, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at McCready Memorial Hospital in Crisfield following a valiant battle with leukemia.

Born in Crisfield April 23, 1973, she was a daughter of George Thomas Marshall, III and Beatrice "Bea" Griffin Marshall of Crisfield. She grew up in Durham, North Carolina, graduating in 1991 from Jordan High School. She also attended East Carolina University. She had been making her home in Crisfield for the past 13 years.

A consultant at Verizon for 11 years, she was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Crisfield, Crisfield Elks Lodge #1044, and was a volunteer at the J. Millard Tawes Museum and Women Supporting Women, both Crisfield. She was also an avid supporter of the Wellness Community of Delmarva.

Katina had a pure love for life, and will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her parents, George T., III and Beatrice "Bea" Marshall; her sister, Kendra Payne and brother-in-law, Jamie Payne; her nephews, Ethan and Cameron Payne; her niece, Paige Payne; her grandmother, Dorothy Marshall; all of Crisfield; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 1 PM at Asbury United Methodist Church in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. Pastor Jeff James and Rev. Sally Russum will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
