Obituary

KATHY LYNN HINMAN, 53, of Salisbury, died Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.

Born in Crisfield on August 19, 1956, she was the daughter of Dolores Marshall Hinman of Salisbury and the late Richard F. "Dicky" Hinman, who died February 19, 1997.

She attended the Teen Adult Center in Mardela which is now Dove Pointe in Salisbury. She enjoyed spending time at Dove Pointe Day Care and was the spokesperson for the Pacer Program there. She had exceptional social skills and was a people-person who loved spending time with her family and friends. Her greatest love was spending quality time with her family at family get-togethers where she was always the center of attention.

She is survived by her devoted mother, Dolores Marshall Hinman of Salisbury; a special cousin who was like a brother to her, Steve Tull and family of Cambridge; her special aunts, Eleanor Tawes and husband Dr. Marvin of Crisfield and Nina Miles and husband Glenn of Salisbury; her paternal aunt and uncles, Lois Matthews, Bobby Hinman and Donald Hinman, all of Crisfield; her maternal cousins, Craig Tawes, Kara Evans and Kay Tawes, and their families of Crisfield, Rick Carwile and family of Michigan, and Howard Carwile of Frederick; her paternal cousins, Helen Ward of Florida, Gail Hall of South Carolina, Michelle Pruitt, Donelle Hall, Sammy Hinman and Jimmy Matthews, and their families of Crisfield, Preston Hinman and family of Marion, Ronnie Swift of Crisfield, Donna Moss and family of Dover, and Rick Hinman and family of Florida; her special friends at the group home on North Park Drive, Ellen Perdue and Jane Purnell; and her special caregivers.

Along with her father, she was preceded in death by a special aunt, Martha Tull.

Friends may call Saturday from 1-1:45PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. A graveside service and interment will follow at 2 PM at Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield. The Rev. Howard Gordy will officiate.
A memorial service also officiated by The Rev. Howard Gordy will be held Tuesday at 11 AM at Dove Pointe on Mt. Herman Road in Salisbury where a reception will follow.
