Katherine LaBarre Riggin, 93, of Crisfield, MD and formerly of Hampstead, MD, died Sunday, November 2, 2014 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.

Born in Pen Argyl, PA on November 16, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Toth LaBarre. Her husband, John T. "Tommy" Riggin, Jr., preceded her in death August 14, 1990. She had been making her home in Crisfield since 1989.

She was retired from Black & Decker in Hampstead. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Crisfield, Crisfield AARP, American Legion Post #16 Ladies Auxiliary, and enjoyed volunteering in her community when she was able.

She is survived by a daughter, Donna Wolfe and husband Derwin of Westminster; her daughter-in-law, Carol Lynn Riggin of Crisfield; grandchildren, Lisa Smith/Steven and daughter Brianna, of Crisfield, Kathie Fowler of Salisbury, Wayne Strohm of Westminster, MD, Albert Mooney, Jr. of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Tammy Riggin of Westminster, MD, Tommy Riggin of Westminster, Rodney Riggin, Jr. of Westminster, Christopher Riggin of Westminster, and Debbie Mooney of Berlin; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three children, Tommy Riggin, III, Jacqueline Mooney, and Rodney Riggin; and a brother, Edward LaBarre.

A memorial service officiated by the Rev. Steve Willing will be held Friday, November 7, 2014 at 11 AM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home. Private urn interment will be in Asbury Cemetery.
