Katharine Elizabeth Kraus, 93, of Crisfield and formerly of Medford, New Jersey, died Thursday, December 19, 2024 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.
Born in Barrington, New Jersey on December 18, 1931, she was a daughter of the late William Alexander Mitchell and Florence Mae Spong Mitchell. Her husband of 69 years, Robert "Bob" Kraus preceded her in death on October 8, 2021.
A graduate of Haddonfield High School class of 1950, she worked for 20 years at Cosaboom's Meat Market and lastly at Medford Farms Delicatessen. She also taught Sunday School for 10 years while in New Jersey. She and her husband relocated to Crisfield, MD in 1989.
Katharine enjoyed gardening, and traveling with her husband in her younger years. She loved spending time with her family, and especially loved feeding her family at gatherings.
She is survived by two sons, Robert William "Bob" Kraus and wife Pamela of Hammonton, NJ and William Robert "Bill" Kraus and wife Lisa of Crisfield; a sister, Mabel Cooper and husband Malcolm of Marlton, NJ; grandsons, Bradley William Kraus and Ryan Mitchell Kraus of Crisfield; her Goddaughter, Shana Forbes of Florida;1 nephew; and several nieces.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Justin Kraus on December 9, 2022.
A viewing will be on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 11-11:45 AM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield with a graveside funeral service to follow at 12 PM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church Cemetery in Marion Station. Father Mike Lokey will officiate.
