IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Joyce Jean
Durham
March 18, 1961 – June 28, 2025
Joyce Jean Durham went home to be with her Heavenly Father after passing away at home, Saturday night, June 28, 2025. She had been ready for a long time to meet the Lord.
She was born in Dundalk, Maryland to Walter Wieczorkowski and Irene Szymanski. In the mid-70s, her family moved to the Eastern Shore of Maryland where she graduated from Crisfield High School, Valedictorian, in 1979.
She worked at the Original Captain's Galley for many years, other restaurants in Crisfield, as a sales associate at the Country House in Salisbury, and in the deli at Crisfield Food Lion later in life before retiring last year. She considered many of her co-workers to be friends.
She is survived by Madame Durham of Crisfield, MD, Benjamin Durham and his wife, Ashley, of Gautier, MS, and Camille Petrofske and husband, Michael, and grandchildren, Grant and Genevieve of Kingsport, TN, several siblings, many nieces and nephews, and friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Charlene, and husband of 40 years, Raymond Durham, who passed away in August 2024.
Joyce enjoyed sewing, crafts, decorating for the holidays (especially Halloween and Christmas), baking, watching old movies and TV shows, spending time with family, playing with her pets, talking to friends, and reading. She was a devout Christian and a member of First Baptist Church for decades.
Her final wishes were to be cremated. No funeral is scheduled. A dual celebration of life may be planned in the future.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Coastal Hospice and/or the Crisfield Lions Club.
