Obituary

Joseph H. "Tinker" Coulbourne, 89, of Crisfield, died Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.

Born in Crisfield, he was the son of the late Joseph Clayton "Bud" Coulbourne and Jennie Marie Mason Coulbourne.  He was a graduate of Crisfield High School class of 1949 and was a US Navy Korean Conflict veteran serving from 1950-1954 on the USS Uhlmann.

He was the owner and operator of Coulbourne's Cleaners and also retired from Rubberset Corporation and Eastern Correctional Institution where he was Food Service Lieutenant.

His memberships include Living Hope Ministries of the Eastern Shore, Crisfield Elks Lodge #1044, and the Stanley Cochrane Post #16 American Legion.  He loved dancing the jitterbug and won several dance competitions.  He also ran the Sweet Shop on the corner of Main Street where he would hold dance competitions. He enjoyed collecting coins, post cards, and baseball cards and even opened a baseball card shop for a period of time. Tinker was also an avid bowler and talented musician playing the saxophone in several local bands.  In his later years his passion was woodworking and enjoyed making custom furniture and any other request that people had until he was no longer able.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Coulbourne of Hebron; three daughters, Terri Coulbourne (Randy Tribeck) of Laurel, DE, Tammi Reynolds of Crisfield, and Traci Tyler (Chris) of Crisfield; a special step-son, Eric Evans of Crisfield; seven grandchildren, Laurie Marshall (Steve), Preston Bart Thomas (Tracey), Petey Dorman, Tyler Ryan, Walt Baker, David Barone (Erica), and Cody Tyler (Lauren); 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Sibyl Matthews Coulbourne; his son, Joseph Harry "T.J." Coulbourne, Jr.; and brothers, Terry Edward Coulbourne and Kelly Coulbourne.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be one hour prior.  Rev. LeBron Palmer and Rev. Joseph Barnes will officiate.  Interment with military honors will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
