Joseph Patrick Costello, Jr., 77, of Marion and formerly of Crisfield, died Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Manokin Manor Nursing and Rehab Center.  He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Helen Gertrude "Trudy" Costello on November 23, 2022.  He is survived by his son, Joseph "Patrick" Costello, III.  His wishes were to have no services.

Below is a tribute to Mr. Costello by his son, Joseph "Patrick" Costello, III:

"Joseph Patrick Costello, Jr. was my best friend, business partner, musical sidekick, and my Dad.  He was born in Philadelphia, but after moving to Crisfield in 1992 swore that this was his true home.  I could list dates and accomplishments and his deep and abiding love for his late bride of over fifty years.  This is normal stuff distracting us from the sad fact that a good man is dead.  A New Year's shooter who could make a cheese steak while giving a banjo lesson.  A man who did the right thing no matter the cost.  I do not see a time, even in the far future, when I will not miss you- or be proud to carry your name.  Go dance with mom now. I and all of your friends and music students will be okay.  You taught us all well."
