Johnnie Carroll Marshall of Crisfield, Maryland passed away at TidalHealth McCready on May 13, 2022.  He was 83.

He was born on October 7, 1938 to the late Paul and Mabel Marsh Marshall.  He was raised on Smith Island.

Johnnie served in several posts after being drafted in the US Army, including Key West, Florida, during the Cuban Missile Crisis.  After being discharged from the Army, Johnnie worked several jobs including hotels in Clearwater Beach, Florida, the Baltimore Ship Yard, Chris-Craft in Salisbury, and Eastern Correctional Institution (ECI).  However, his real love was working on the water crabbing and oystering, which he did the majority of his life with enthusiasm.

Johnnie's Christian faith was very important to him, and he was a lifetime member of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International (FGBMFI), was a lay leader in the Tylerton Union United Methodist Church, and a Deacon at Faith Fellowship Assembly of God Church in Crisfield.  He served as Fire Chief of the Tylerton Fire and Rescue Company, and was inducted into the Watermen's Hall of Fame in 2015.

Johnnie is survived by his wife of 41 years, Hilda Marsh Marshall; children, Angela Cummings and husband Mark of Jonesborough, Tennessee and Micah Marshall and wife Ashlie of Fairmount, Maryland; grandchildren, Kelly Cummings, and Caleb, Brody, Gracie, Gage, and Gabbie Marshall; and a sister, Sharon Marshall of Salisbury, Maryland.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Bob Daniels and Pastor Joshua Humphreys will be Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 2 PM at Faith Fellowship Assembly of God, 26950 Plantation Road in Crisfield where a viewing will be one hour prior.  Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
