Johnnie Lee Cooper, 76, of Crisfield, passed away at home with his loving family by his side on Thursday, May 11, 2023.
Born on Tangier Island, VA on July 8, 1946, he was a son of the late Edwin Lewis Cooper and Amanda Jane King Cooper.
He was a waterman who enjoyed duck hunting, fishing, dancing, working in the yard planting flowers and gardening, and riding around and singing. He was affectionately nicknamed "Silver Fox" and "Victor Newman" as he was always handsome and dressed sharp.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Elsie Cooper of Crisfield; children, Amanda Cauble (Rick) of Crisfield, Katie Pruitt (Wayne) of Crisfield, Lori Harrison (Ray) of Marion Station, Crystal Swift (JD) of Crisfield, Eddie Cooper (Andrea) of Tangier Island, VA, Jeffrey "Buck" Harrison (Paula) of Crisfield, Billy Harrison (Dawn) of Crisfield, and Michael "Mushy" Harrison (Shelly) of Crisfield; 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; his special dog "Bella"; and many friends that he loved dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Johnnie Cooper, Jr.; two brothers, Kenneth Cooper and Lewis "Ray" Cooper; and a great-grandson, Jayce Swift.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be one hour prior. Rev. John Thorne will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
