John Thomas "Tommy" Lawson, Jr., 81, of Crisfield, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.

Born in Crisfield on August 31, 1935, he was a son of the late John Thomas Lawson, Sr. and Beatrice J. Harrison Headley.

A graduate of Crisfield High School, he served in the US Army from 1953-1961 and after his discharge, he worked as a Waterman.  He was a 59 year life member of the Crisfield Elks Lodge #1044 and was also a member of the Stanley Cochrane Post #16 American Legion in Crisfield.  He enjoyed fishing and boating and loved his dog, "Molly."

He is survived by his brother, Oliver "Tuts" Lawson; nieces, Karen Lawson, Kathy Rees (Kenny), and Kristy Lawson (Brian); and step-daughters, Judy Price (Dennie), and their son, Daniel, and Libby Ketterman and her son Tim. Also surviving are Mary Bradshaw and her family, Judy Bradshaw (Bill), Shaun Dumas (Brian), and their daughter, Morgan Lanawitz, and Michael Bradshaw (Charli); several cousins; and an aunt, Mae Daugherty.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Hugh Headley, and several aunts and uncles.

Memorial Services will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at the Crisfield Elks Lodge #1044 at 2 PM.  A visitation will be from 1-2. The Rev. Bob Daniels will officiate.
