John Russell Riggin, affectionately known as "Rusty", died Thursday, January 6, 2022 at Tidal Health McCready Pavilion.  He was 56.

Born in Fort Polk, Louisiana on July 17, 1965, he was a son of the late Vaughn James Riggin and Janet Phillips Riggin.

Rusty was a music lover who throughout his adult life performed with many different bands in the Crisfield area. Most notable would be Riot Act in the early 2010's. He was a member of the Marsh Mud Militia and enjoyed time outside riding his ATV.

He was a Certified Craftsman with the Industrial Fabrics Association International specializing in custom boat canvas.

He is survived by his wife, Melody Morgan of Crisfield; his sons, John Russell (Jake) Riggin II and his wife Paige Swift Riggin, Jordan Wade Riggin, and Evan James Riggin of Crisfield; one grandson John Russell Riggin III; one brother James Phillips Riggin and his spouse Thomas Dietz; two sisters Vonny Lynn Pilchard and husband David C. Pilchard, and Jill G. Taylor and her husband Kevin Taylor; an aunt, Linda Sterling and husband Jim Boy; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be Sunday, January 9, 2022 at Asbury United Methodist Church at 2 PM.
