John W. Peoples, 86, of Westover and formerly of Gaithersburg, Maryland died Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield.

Born in Little Falls, New Jersey on September 28, 1927, he was a son of the late John W. and Helen Elizabeth Francisco Peoples. He had been making his home in Westover for the past 5 ½ years.

He was a retired pharmaceutical sales representative for Wyeth and was US Army veteran.

He was a member of the Gaithersburg Lions Club and the Potomac Valley Ski Club for many years. He was a devoted father, and enjoyed helping raise his seven children.

He is survived by seven children, Debbie Nowicki of Ocoee, Florida, Sharon Ramsay and her husband Bruce of Westover, Patty Peoples and her husband Tom Resh of Redlands, California, Pamela Moxley and her husband Charlie of Ashburn, Virginia, Cathy Placek and her husband John of Carbondale, Colorado, Barry Peoples and his wife Leeann Pfautz of Kensington, Maryland, and Timothy Peoples of Phoenix, Arizona; a sister, Gail Cummins and her husband Mike of North Carolina; a niece and nephew, Sally Underwood and James Cummins and their families; ten grandchildren, Brenda Wilkins, Bruce Austin, Tara Cook, Ashley Nowicki, Jessica Ramsay, Chad Ramsay, Chaz Moxley, Shae Moxley, Holly Resh, and Bridget Placek; and eight great-grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard "Dick" Peoples.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, November 2, 2013 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. Rev. Robert Daniels will officiate.
