John Andrew Niemiec, 80, of Crisfield and formerly of Philadelphia, PA, died Thursday, November 9, 2023 at his home.

Born in Philadelphia on March 8, 1943, he was the son of the late Andrew and Jean Struzinski Niemiec.  He had been making his home in Crisfield for the past two years.

He served in the US Air Force reserves during the Vietnam War Era and was a member of the American Legion Post #16 in Crisfield.  He was a retired contractor specializing in renovations and prior worked in medical sales and at the Manheim Auto Auction.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved dogs.

He is survived by his children, Jacquelyn Niemiec and Jacquline Rineer of Leola, PA, John A. Niemiec, Jr. and his spouse Denise of Willards, MD, Shannon Hughes and her spouse Joseph of Lancaster, PA, Kelly Forbes of Lawrenceburg, IN; and three grandchildren, Mikayla Hughes, Xander Hughes and Skylar Jasper Athena.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his second wife, Patricia Claffey Niemiec and his first wife, Marie Ballezzi.
