JOHN T. "JACK" GRIFFITH, 60, of Crisfield and formerly of Winslow, New Jersey, died Friday, September 16, 2011 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on December 20, 1950, he was the only son of George Theodore and Josephine A. Stoy Griffith of Snow Hill. He had been making his home in Crisfield for the past 12 years.

He was retired from the former Bell Atlantic Phone Company in New Jersey where he worked for 30 years. His passion was his cabinet making business, Griffith Woodworking.

A devoted and loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, he is survived by his parents, George and Josephine Griffith of Snow Hill; his wife of 41 years, Mona Jean Griffith of Crisfield; two daughters, Jennifer Corley and her husband Tony of Douglasville, Pennsylvania and Eileen Marusch and her husband Joseph of Winslow Township, New Jersey; two grandchildren, Zachary Corley and Amanda Marusch; his sister-in-law, Luann Ziegler and her husband Gary of Mullica Hill, New Jersey; his mother-in-law, Sara Catherine Ziehler of Mullica Hill, New Jersey; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where the family will receive friends one hour prior. The Rev. LeBron Palmer will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jack may be sent to Peninsula Regional Medical Center Cancer Institute, 100 East Carroll Street, Salisbury, MD 21801-5493.
