JOHN DAVID "FROG" SWIFT, JR. 84, of Princess Anne and formerly of Crisfield, died Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at his home.
Born in Crisfield on February 23, 1926, he was the son of the late John D. and Leona Parkinson Swift. His wife, Barbara Ellen Powell Swift, preceded him in death on November 2, 2008.
He worked 42 years for the Somerset County Roads Department retiring in 1990 as shop foreman. He was a US Army veteran and attended the Crisfield Wesleyan Church.
He is survived by a son, John David "J.D." Swift, III and his wife Crystal of Marion; a daughter, Annette Humphreys and her husband Jed of Marion; three step-children, Robert Lee Worth, III and his wife Amy, Paul Worth and his wife Tonia, all of Salisbury, and Linda Steele and her husband Wayne of Eden; four grandchildren, Timley Swift Watkins, John David Swift, IV, John Patrick Swift, and Ryan William Swift; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rita Wilson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. The Rev. Bob Daniels will officiate. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
