John Wesley "End Of Trail" Howard, 69, of Crisfield, died Monday, January 27, 2014 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.
Born in Crisfield on October 20, 1944, he was a son of the late Harold M. and Lutisha Marshall Howard.
Mr. Howard was formerly employed by the Crisfield Police Department as a dispatcher and parking enforcement personnel. Most recently he worked as a security guard in Salisbury and Ocean City. He attended Crisfield High School and later received a GED.
In his childhood he attended Immanuel United Methodist Church in Crisfield and later became a member of Marion Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Crisfield CB Radio Club. Riding horses and his involvement in Eastern Shore Native American Heritage were his passions in life.
He is survived by three brothers, Norris C. Howard, Sr. and his wife Barbara of Eden, David L. Howard of Waldorf, MD, and Charles M. Howard and his wife Linda of Pueblo West, Colorado; two brothers-in-law, Paul Browne of Mt. Airy, MD and Mark Ritter of Delaware; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Hodges of Modestown, VA; his caregiver, Ruth Diggs of Crisfield; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. He was also survived by a host of friends and special neighbors at his apartment building.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Harold M. Howard, Jr.; two sisters, Joyce E. Browne and Margie A. Ritter; and a sister-in-law, Kathy Howard.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Joseph Barnes will be Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 11 AM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. Interment will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery in Marion.
