Obituary

John Paul Bradford, 60, of Marion Station, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.

Born in Crisfield on September 9, 1964, he was a son of the late Warren and Philomenia Brenner Bradford.

He graduated from the former Sarah Peyton School and was a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Westover.

Active in his community, John was a member of the former Marion Community 4H Club, Honorary Member of the Marion Volunteer Fire Department, member of the Friendship Club at Somerset Community Services, and volunteered at the Seton Center.

John loved bowling, attending the Special Olympics, going to the Crisfield Elks Lodge to eat his favorite meals, and loved all things chocolate: cake, ice cream, and especially, donuts. He was always happy and thought everything, in his words, was "bootiful." His personality and dry humor were some of his greatest traits and he will be missed by all.

He is survived by his brothers, William Bradford and wife Sonia of Florida, Frank Bradford and wife Lisa of Princess Anne, and Alfred Bradford of Marion Station; sisters, Alice Bromley and husband Jack of Princess Anne, Anne Widmann and husband Bill of Wisconsin, and Katherine Shockley of Princess Anne; sister-in-law, Tammy Bradford of Florida; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Carolyn Thomas, Josie Wooster and Kay Blue.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Mickey Bradford; niece, Rachel Shockley; and nephew, Warren Bradford.

The family would like to thank his caregivers at the Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home, TidalHealth Peninsula Regional, and Coastal Hospice for their exceptional care during his stay.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 11 AM at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Westover. Friends may call from 10:30-11 AM. Father Dan Staniskis will officiate. Urn interment will follow at Rehoboth Presbyterian Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Marion Fire Department, P.O. Box 143, Marion Station, MD 21838, Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802, or to the Seton Center, P.O. Box 401, Princess Anne, MD 21853.
