Joe Layton Reid, Jr., 40, of Crisfield, died Sunday, April 26, 2015 at his home.
Born in Crisfield on April 28, 1974, he was a son of Evelyn Louise Mister Evans of Crisfield and the late Joe Layton Reid, Sr. who died this past March. He grew up on Smith Island and attended school there until he was 15, then moved back to Crisfield and attended Crisfield High School.
He was a waterman and enjoyed watching TV, reading, playing video games, and tormenting his nieces and nephews. He had also mastered the board game Dungeons and Dragons; his main character was "Dufus". He will also be remembered as being "Uncle Joe Blow's" sidekick.
Along with his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Evelyn Towers of Denton and Amanda Hill and husband George of Crisfield; a step-brother, Pastor Jim Evans and wife Melissa of Crisfield; a step-sister, Toni Daugherty and husband Lewis of Crisfield; a nephew, CJ Lewis of Crisfield; three nieces, Brittney and Rachel Towers of Denton and Shelby Cullen of Crisfield; several step-nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service officiated by Pastor Jim Evans will be held Sunday, May 3, 2015 at 2 PM at Somerset Free Methodist Church in Crisfield where a visitation will be one hour prior. Urn interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
