Obituary

Joanne Esther Troxell, 66, of Crisfield, MD, went to be with the Lord following a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home in Crisfield with her husband by her side.

Born in Allentown, Pennsylvania on March 31, 1947, she was a daughter of the late James Madison LaBar Cornell and Rose Mae DeLong Cornell. She had been making her home in Crisfield since December of 2004.

She obtained an A.A. Degree in Business Management from Redding University. She worked as a sales clerk at JcPenney, and most recently was secretary of maintenance at Eastern Correctional Institution in Westover, MD.

A member of Asbury United Methodist Church in Crisfield, she enjoyed crocheting and she loved to cook.

She is survived by her husband of almost 34 years, Eugene D. Troxell of Crisfield; her son, Richard Edward Moyer of Jacksonville, NC; her daughter, JoLynn Marie Troxell of Crisfield; three grandchildren, Danielle Maille and husband Christopher, Ashley Moyer, and Cameron Moyer and wife Kristine; two great-grandchildren, Autumn Maille and Abbigayle Edwards; her brother, Calvin Charles Cornell and wife Faye of White Hall, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard James Cornell and Kenneth Edwin Cornell.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 27, 2013 at 3:30 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where a viewing will be from 2:30 until service time. Pastor Todd Hurley will officiate. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
