Joan Lawson, 76, of Crisfield, died Friday, March 20, 2015 at Alice Byrd Tawes Nursing Home.

Born in Crisfield on November 23, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Oris and Wilma Webster Ford.

A homemaker, she was a charter member of Somerset Free Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing, flowers, and traveling. She especially enjoyed traveling to wildlife expositions with her husband.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Oliver "Tuts" Lawson of Crisfield; three daughters, Karen Lawson, Kathy Rees and husband Kenny, and Kristy Lawson Paden, all of Crisfield; a grandson, Bryan Lawson Rees of Crisfield; a brother, Jackie Ford and wife Dottie of Crisfield; a sister, Lula Mae Dize of Crisfield; and many nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Sonny and Bobby Ford.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield. There will be no public viewing; however, the family will receive friends one hour prior. The Rev. Samuel Horner will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
