JIMMY EDWIN EVANS, 65, of Crisfield and formerly of Ewell, Smith Island, died Sunday, September 13, 2009 at his home.

Born on Ewell, Smith Island on August 10, 1944, he was a son of the late Edwin and Cora Katherine Corbin Evans. He had been making his home in Crisfield since1989.

A 1963 graduate of Crisfield High School, he was a waterman and a member of Ewell United Methodist Church and Ewell Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed playing guitar, pool, and cards. He was also an avid Elvis fan.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Louise Mister Evans of Crisfield; his son, Jimmy Evans, Jr. and wife, Melissa, of Allen; a daughter, Toni L. Daugherty and husband, Lewis, of Crisfield; three step-children, Evelyn Mae Towers of Denton, Joe Layton Reid, Jr. of Crisfield and Amanda Reid Hill and husband, George, Jr. of Crisfield; a brother, Jerry Lee Evans of Crisfield; and nine grandchildren, Philip "Moosie" Labo, IV, Tiffany Labo, Laura Marshall, Kyle Evans, Kaleb Evans, C.J. Lewis, Shelby Cullen, Brittney Towers and Rachel Towers.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one half hour prior. The Rev. Bob Daniels will officiate. Urn interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield.
