JESSE RAYMOND GARRISON, JR., 74, of Crisfield, died Monday, March 26, 2007 at his home.
Born in Crisfield January 29, 1933, he was a son of the late J. Raymond and Arinthia Meredith Garrison.
He was a graduate of the Crisfield High School class of 1951, and briefly attended Western Maryland College. He was also a US Army veteran serving during the Korean War.
Upon returning to Crisfield, he worked at Marion Pharmacy and was a heavy equipment operator for Williams Construction.
Mr. Garrison was a life member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America and attended Mariners United Methodist Church in his younger years.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and farming. Many area residents will remember him for selling his produce at the City Dock daily. He was very devoted to his family.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Mary Ruth Garrison; his children, Pamela Jean Garrison and Scott Allen Garrison, both of Crisfield, and Stuart Allen Garrison, who is missing and presumed deceased; his grandchildren, Stephanie Garrison Ward and husband Chad of Salisbury, Stephen Diggs and wife Lauren of Lexington Park, MD, Stacey Diggs and wife Courtney of Crisfield and Aaron Garrison of Crisfield; his great-grandchildren, Madisyn, Micah, Adah Grace, Christian and Caden Diggs, and Austin Daniel and Connor Brenden Ward; his sister-in-law, Margaret Charnick and husband Bill of Crisfield; his brother-in-law, Allen "Boh" Somers and wife Bobbie Jean of Crisfield; his father-in-law, Allen Somers of Crisfield; a special niece, Blair Landon; a special caretaker, Doris Jones of Fruitland; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Stacey Jean; his sister and his brother-in-law, Ida Mae and Basil Johns; his brother, Ralph Leon Garrison; and his mother-in-law, Virginia Somers.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 30, 2007 at 2 PM at the Crisfield Church of God where friends may call one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Harvey Tyler will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park in Crisfield.
