Obituary
Jerry Lee Conner, 69, of Crisfield, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.
Born in Crisfield on April 12, 1942, he was a son of the late Aaron Joseph and Sarah Ellen Hudson Conner.
He graduated as Valedictorian of the Crisfield High School class of 1961 and obtained his Bachelor Degree in education from Salisbury State College. He taught at Woodson Middle School for several years and later went to work for Dresser Wayne Industries in Salisbury where he retired as production manager after 27 years. He attended Evangelical Wesleyan Church in Crisfield.
Jerry had a great love of music. He played professionally for 50 years, playing several instruments. He played with many bands including "American Expression" for many years. He also enjoyed helping organize the Women Supporting Women Crisfield Chapter's Pink Ribbon Dance every year with "The Ventura's". He was an accomplished woodworker and wildfowl carver. By most standards, Jerry was accomplished at many different things. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 24 ½ years, Diane Marie Conner of Crisfield; two daughters, Heather Noel Conner and her fiancé Chet Cornman of Fruitland and Sheri Lin Nelson and her husband Gary of Crisfield; four grandchildren, Sierra and Elijah Pusey, Sophie Cornman, and Blake Nelson; two brothers, Harlton "Hawk" Conner and Carroll Conner of Crisfield; a sister, Aileen Haynie of Crisfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by three half brothers, John, Norman, and Milton "Pete" Conner.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 3 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. Rev. Terry Riggin and Father Mike Lokey will officiate.
