In Loving Memory

Jeremy Rue Sterling

August 19 1984-August 9, 2024

It is with a heavy heart that we have to announce the passing of Jeremy Rue Sterling, 39 of Crisfield, MD where he was born and raised. Jeremy passed away at his home after battling an aggressive form of lymphoma cancer on Friday, August 9, 2024, surrounded by his family.

He leaves behind his pride and joy, Jason Lee Sterling, 16 of Crisfield; his siblings, a brother Jerry Rue Sterling, Jr., a sister Teresa Lynn Benton, a brother Justin Sterling and a brother Jamie Thomas. He also had several aunts, uncles, and a numerous amount of cousins.

He was preceded in death by his late mother, Debra Ann Dameron-Strobel and his late father, Jerry Rue Sterling, Sr. His maternal grandparents were the late Julia Ann Evans-Dameron and the late Horrace Dameron, Jr. His paternal grandparents were the late Laura Frances Sterling and the late Linwood "Possum" Sterling.

Jeremy was a likeable guy and he created long lasting friendships along the way. He enjoyed spending most of his time with his son; they created an unbreakable bond like no other. They were not only father and son, they were best friends. When you saw Jeremy, you saw Jason. The love they endured for one another was unconditional. He also loved family time and enjoyed family visits. He loved electrical work and going fishing. He talked a lot about his years when he was in little league baseball with his brother, Justin. His favorite team was the Dodgers. He could fix anything, hook up stereo systems, home systems, even taught himself how to play the guitar while becoming blind in 2007. He loved just listening to music and party. He was also a good cook.

Jeremy spent a lot of time fighting his sickness until he couldn't fight anymore. He was always encouraged on the fight he had in him but also the fight he gave to try and beat it. He was so loved by many.

Jeremy chose to donate his body to science in hopes that further research would help cure others of cancer that was incurable to him. He wanted to leave with a story, even at the end of his life he chose to help others.

A memorial service to celebrate Jeremy's life will be done at a later date and time, but as for now the family is providing a small "Celebration of Life" hosted by his sister at her home in Marion, MD on what would have been his 40th birthday, Monday, August 19, 2024 from 6-8 PM. Anyone that would like to come, you could contact Teresa at 302-470-1447 .

"Your presence is sorely missed, your memories will be treasured, know that you were loved and still are, and you will never be forgotten."
