Jennie Christine "Teany" Charnock, of Tangier Island, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018 at her home at the age of 93.

Born on Tangier May 27, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Harlan and Nina Crockett.  Her husband, Grover Charnock, preceded her in death April 3, 2001.

A member of Swain Memorial United Methodist Church, Teany was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and loved taking care of her family and home.  Though she endured many of life's tragedies, she relied on her faith in God to bring her comfort.  She passed away as she lived, peacefully in her beloved home on Ponderosa Lane.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Allen Fisher, and Nina Ruth and Steve Pruitt; her sister, Deborah Haynie; her brother and sister-in-law, Stanley "Bud" and Ouida Crockett; her niece, Marsha Tyler and family:  husband Delmas "Brov", son, Jonathon, and grandson Nathaniel; her nephew, Julian "Jukie" Bradshaw and wife Anita; several family members; and many special friends.

Along with her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Freddie Gardner; a granddaughter, Melanie Gardner; sister and brother-in-law, Norma and Julian "Juke" Bradshaw; and a brother-in-law, Hugh Haynie.

Funeral services officiated by Rev. Nona Allen and Rev. Edward Pruitt will be Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 2 PM at Swain Memorial United Methodist Church.  Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:30-7:30 PM at the church.  Interment will be in New Testament Congregation Cemetery.
