Obituary

JENNIE M. DRYDEN, 79, of Crisfield, died Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.

Born on Tangier Island April 17, 1931, she was a daughter of the late John Wesley and Ruth Sparrow Crockett. Her husband, Alan H. Dryden, preceded her in death November 26, 2000.

She was a homemaker and worked many years at the Carvel Hall gift shop.

She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Crisfield where she was a Deacon and taught Sunday School. She often hosted Bible Study at her home. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting.

She is survived by two children, Carol Ann Ross and her husband Bob Ross of Pocomoke City and Alan E. Dryden and his wife Karen Crockett Dryden of Crisfield; a grandson, Alan E. "Buddy" Dryden, Jr. of Crisfield; a sister, Rissie Crockett of Staunton, Virginia; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert, Floyd and Edward Crockett; and two sisters, Jeanette Crockett Jennings and Ella Marie Crockett.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 11, 2011 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. Pastor Tad Maroon will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
