JEFFREY LEE EVANS, 54, of Ewell, Smith Island, died Monday, January 10, 2011 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center following a long illness with kidney disease.

Born in Crisfield, he was a son of the late Emory L. and Mary Jane Evans.

He was a waterman, and a graduate of Crisfield High School. He was also a member of Ewell United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading the Bible.

He is survived by his brother, Emory L. Evans and wife June Carol of Port Deposit, MD; a nephew, Rick Evans of Crisfield; and four nieces, Jacqueline Evans and Michelle Evans, of Port Deposit, Sheri Birch and husband Charles of Salisbury and Mary Carol Joines and husband Douglas of North East, MD.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Wayne Evans.

Funeral services will be Friday, January 14, 2011 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. The Rev. Rick Edmund will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
