JEANETTE M. DAVIS, 84, of Crisfield, being in failing health and confined at her home for several years, died peacefully there on Saturday, December 12, 2009.
Born October 1, 1925 in Crisfield, she was a daughter of the late Ernest L. and Aleitha Bonneville Sterling.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Evangelical Wesleyan Church in Crisfield. She was compassionate, devoted, tender, loving, sweet-spirited and honest. In their early years she and her husband lived in Pocomoke City, but returned to Crisfield where they spent the remainder of their lives together. She was an avid reader, a home decorator, and a visionary. She attended church services whenever possible. Even in her failing health, once again, she wanted to read her favorite book, the Bible, all the way through, which she accomplished.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Richard W. Davis, a brother, John H. Sterling and wife, Emily of Crisfield; two sisters, Teeny S. Landon and Tiny S. Dize, both of Crisfield; a niece, Lynn Adkins and her children, Lauren Greenhalgh, and Christopher Adkins, both of Salisbury, and Erin Catron of Hebron; brother in law, Thorbourne Davis and wife, Martha of Salisbury, and also survived by several cousins.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two nephews, Jason Landon and Ronnie L. Dize.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 17, 2009 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. The Rev. Terry Riggin will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
