Jean Ann Yoder, 79, of Westover, died Saturday, October 29, 2022 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional in Salisbury.

Born on August 27, 1943 in Crisfield, she was a daughter of the late Milford Jerome Thornton and Iantha Nelson Thornton.

She was a painter and worked for the Crisfield Housing Authority for 16 years. She was a seamstress in her younger years.

She enjoyed crafts, especially sewing, and was a talented quilter. As part of the "Sewing Circle" in her church, Holly Grove Mennonite Church, she would help make comforters to send to people in need. She was also an avid reader. In addition, she adored her grand dog, Sophia, and her late pet dog, Buddy.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Crist Bennett Yoder of Westover; two children, Stuart Yoder and wife Pattie of Westover and Sandra Yoder of Salisbury; four grandchildren, James Yoder and wife Emily, Meagan Pruitt and fiancé Robert Bratten, Savannah Yoder, and Chris Brodka and wife Danielle; eight great-grandchildren, Tanner, Finley, Maverick, Aurora, Liam, Wyatt, Cerin, and Sephie; three nieces, Marjorie Fleetwood of Arizona, Lillian Steele of North Carolina, and Karen Raimundo of Pennsylvania.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jo Robin; her brother, Milford "Minnie" Thornton, Jr.; and a granddaughter, Ashley Yoder.

Funeral services officiated by Pastor James Wengerd will be Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 11 AM at Holly Grove Mennonite Church in Westover. A viewing will be Friday evening from 6-8 at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment will be in the Holly Grove Mennonite church cemetery.
