Janice V. Sterling, 86, of Marion, died Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.
Born in Wilmington, DE on September 8, 1926, she was a daughter of the late Miles and Shirley Boyd Short.
A graduate of Wilmington High School, she was a homemaker and a member of Quindocqua United Methodist Church in Marion. She enjoyed watching game shows on TV, and listening to country gospel music. Most of all, she loved having company and being with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert H. Sterling, Sr. of Marion; a daughter, Sharon Cooper Dickey (Sergei) of New Castle, DE; eight grandchildren, Arnie Dunn, Sheila Bufano, Sherri East, Jill Brown, Tiffany Sterling, Michael Sterling, Robert Sterling, III, and John Sterling; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Lula Anne Taylor of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by three children, Baby Sterling in 1964, Robert Sterling, Jr. in 1990, and Perry "Dennis" Cooper in 2008; and two sisters and one brother.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Chuck Jacobson and Rev. Terry Riggin will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at 2 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where a viewing will be one hour prior. Interment will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery in Marion.
