James Wesley Wheeler, 86, of Crisfield and formerly of Queen Annes County, died Sunday, August 12, 2012 at his home.
Born in Baltimore, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Christina Luh Wheeler. He had been making his home in Crisfield for the past 13 ½ years.
He was a retired postal worker and a United States Navy veteran of World War II.
He enjoyed boating, fishing, and taking his grandkids fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Kay Sterling Wheeler of Crisfield; a brother, John Wheeler of Linthicum; two granddaughters, Agatha Kay Snowden and husband Damar of Frederick and Charlotte Lynn Aufdem-Brinke and husband Daniel of Boonesboro; seven great-grandchildren, Hailey, Ryan and Tyler Cook, Lola and Avery Snowden, and McKenna and Brady Ryan; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Colleen Lynn Carder on November 27, 1993; a brother, Norbert Wheeler; and two sisters, Mildred Benner and Hilda Kretchman.
