James K. "Toby" Black, 75, of Crisfield, passed away Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Manokin Manor Nursing & Rehab Center in Princess Anne.
Born in Chickasaw County, Mississippi on September 27, 1949, he was a son of the late Elmer James Black and Sue Jean Martin Black. His wife of 49 years, Virginia Rose Coe Black, preceded him in death on April 3, 2022.
Toby was retired from The City of Crisfield where he worked almost 30 years and he attended Power House Church of God in Christ in Salisbury. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by two daughters, Tyra Price and husband Walter of Salisbury and Sarah King and husband Michael of Crisfield; a brother, Ronald Black of Crisfield; two granddaughters, Caitlin Lower and Ashley Simmons; two great-grandchildren, Tadasia and Sam; and his beloved pet chihuahua "Pablo".
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Rex Allen Black in 2019; and a sister, Patty Black in 2011.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 28, 2025 at 12 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where a viewing will be one hour prior. Son-in-law, Rev. Walter Price will officiate. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations to help the family with final expenses may be made to Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home, 306 W. Main Street, Crisfield, MD 21817.
