James Ellsworth Pickett, 88, of Crisfield and formerly of Westminster, MD, died Friday, May 14, 2021 at TidalHealth Peninsula Regional.  He had been a resident of Manokin Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation since November of 2019.

Born in Woodbine, MD on April 30, 1933, he was a son of the late James Edgar and Nellie Mae Walker Pickett.  He was retired from Maryland State Roads Department.

Mr. Pickett was an artist who loved photography, tractors, trains, and puzzles.  He will be remembered for his great sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Blanche Irene Pickett of Crisfield; his daughter, Betsy Carey Anderson and husband David of Crisfield; step-children, Molly Carey Lane and husband Geoff of Jacksonville, Florida and Tony Carey and wife Pamela of Salisbury; a sister, Nancy Pickett Hand of Bellavista, Arkansas; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two step-children, Suzanne Carey Raimer and Wesley Dean Carey; and two sisters, Doris Pickett and Barbara Pickett Lewis.
