JAMES H. "JIMMY" WARD, JR., 84, of Crisfield, died Monday, August 2, 2010 at his home.
Born in Crisfield May 25, 1926, he was a son of the late James and Serena Moore Ward.
A US Navy, Merchant Marines and Coast Guard veteran, he was a contractor/builder who took pride in building homes, fine furniture and cabinetry.
He was a member of the Crisfield Wesleyan Church where he served on the Board and as a Deacon. He was an avid train enthusiast who enjoyed his large train collection and set-up in his garage. He loved bowling, fishing, crabbing, and working in his workshop.
He is survived by his loving wife of almost 57 years, Janette Rae McMann Ward of Crisfield; two sons, Robert Henderson Ward and Eric Jay Ward of Crisfield; a brother, Jackie Ward of Crisfield; a sister, Peggy Walker of Crisfield; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Ward, and a sister, Virginia Watson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 5, 2010 at 2 PM at the Crisfield Wesleyan Church where friends may call one hour prior. The Rev. Bob Daniels will officiate. Interment will follow in Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
