JACKIE W. "BUSTER" STERLING, 63, of Snow Hill and formerly of Crisfield, died Sunday, December 19, 2010 at his home.
Born in Crisfield on November 28, 1947, he is a son of Myrtle Louise Bundick Sterling of Crisfield and the late Jackie Alonza Sterling.
A US Navy veteran, he was a truck driver for 12 years with Wicomico County Solid Waste Dept.
He enjoyed carving ducks, hunting, fishing, and was very proud of his Native American Heritage. He was a member of the Accohannock Indian Tribe.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Emily Sterling; his mother, Myrtle Sterling of Crisfield; a brother, Trelle Sterling of Marion; a sister, Sherry Majors of Mt. Vernon; his closest friend, Greg Cullen and his wife Carolyn of Crisfield; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 7 PM at Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home in Crisfield where friends may call one hour prior. Rev. Bob Daniels will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Navy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to be sent to the American Cancer Society.
