Ishmael C. Ennis, Sr., 90, of Crisfield, died on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury.
Born in Costen Station, MD he was the son of the late Arzah R. Ennis and Margaret Ann Powell Ennis. He retired from the Somerset County Roads Dept. after many years of service, working in the auto service/maintenance dept. He was a W.W. II U.S. Navy Veteran and a plank border on the ship, Harry E. Hubbard, where he was present during the ship's commissioning.
He was member of the Oliver T. Beauchamp, Jr. American Legion Post 94 in Princess Anne, and enjoyed woodworking, and gardening. He dearly loved his family.
His first wife, Marie Somers Ennis, died on Feb. 2, 1995. He is survived by his second wife, Doris Molnar Ennis; children, Ralph C. Ennis and wife Linda of Stephens City, VA, John Ennis and wife Barbara of Crisfield, Juanita M. Hurley of Freeland, MD, Ishmael C. Ennis, Jr. and Teresa Feetham of Snow Hill. and Helen M. DiLandro and husband Jeffrey of Long Island, NY; step-children, David A. Truitt and wife, Robin, Cheryl A. Darby, Brenda J. Knox and husband, Ken, Dean F. Truitt and wife Maureen, and Jeffrey C. Truitt and wife Tammy; sister, Mary Ennis Ralph of Gainesville, VA; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and his first wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Franklin Ennis, and sisters, Lois Swift, and Juanita Eskes.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 2:00 PM at the Bradshaw & Sons Funeral Home where friends may call from 12-2 PM. The Rev. Bob Daniels will officiate. Interment will be in Sunnyridge Memorial Park where military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Navy.
